Description

The method provides for the determination of calcium and magnesium in cane juice and syrup in the presence of sucrose and is based on the ability of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium salt, (EDTA) to complex metal ions.

This method is used to determine the calcium and magnesium contents of cane juice and syrup. No ashing of the sample is required.

Precision has not been determined.
